When banner shopping here are some questions to think about when comparing prices and products:
Banner weight: We print on three different banner weight materials that are suited well for indoor and outdoor use. Our cut vinyl lettered banner carries a banner weight of 10 oz; while our standard printed banner utilizes a vinyl banner material with a 13 oz. banner weight; and lastly, our rip-resistant matte banner material has a banner weight of 15 oz. These banner weights typically last well in most non-stress banner situations. And for heavy-duty specialty banners, like over-the-street banners or double-sided banners, we utilize higher banner weights like 16 oz. or 22 oz.
Stitched banners: A lot of people are under the assumption that a stitched banner is stronger than a straight cut edge banner, but in essence, they both offer about the same stability. The big difference lies in the banner finishing style. A stitched banner needs hems because the banner material will fray if not stitched; whereas a straight cut edge banner utilizes non-fray banner material that doesn't require any stitching. And since stitched banners have to be sewn there can be extra costs involved. But if want or need a stitched banner, no problem, we got you covered.
Special banner requirements: If you are looking for a banner that has to meet certain city requirements make sure you find a company that can accommodate those needs. Some special requirements involve increased banner weight material, reinforced corners, extra webbing to increase banner strength, sewn in rope to tie a banner in between poles, or maybe snap hooks so the banner can attach to a cable or rope system. We produce all sorts of banners that require additional specifications to make them city or venue compliant.
Inks: Inquire about the type of inks that are used for banner printing as the specific style of ink may determine just how long the printed portion of your banner will last. Make sure your banner company is using fade-resistant inks which help aide the banner print against color fading so that the banner will last outdoors for a good long time. We use Eco-solvent inks that resist fading, under normal sun exposure, for up to 3 to 5 years.
Resolution: Will your banner be printed at a low resolution setting or a high resolution setting? Banners that are printed at low-resolution settings print faster but sometimes this sacrifices the clarity and integrity of the printed material. We always print our banners on high resolution equipment at high resolution settings to achieve the best and most vibrant print quality available.
File checking: A lot of online banner companies are able to offer cheaper banner prices, but at the expense of the customer, because uploaded art images are not checked for print compatibility. Printing uploaded art images in an "as is" fashion is scary because you may end up with a printed banner that is pixelated and choppy or has funky colors because of a color shift from RGB to CMYK color. We file check, free of charge, on every single uploaded image that is sent our way to make sure that the file will print without any issues guaranteeing a great looking product from the get go.
