WHAT IS VINYL LETTERING / GRAPHICS? HOW CAN IT HELP YOUR BUSINESS?
vin-nyl (vi' nel) N. : Shiny and tough flexible plastic; often used for vehicle and window signage. Vinyl material comes in a wide assortment of solid spot colors.
Vinyl cut lettering / graphics are use for a wide variety of applications. Everything from business window lettering, vehicle body and window lettering to outdoor / indoor banners. Whether you are in upstart company looking to promote your brand or services or a major brand name company looking to hire some upstart employees. Vinyl cut lettering and graphics are the cost effective way to help you achieve your goal.
Vinyl lettering and graphics are produced in the same manner. Using line artwork created out of programs such as ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR; ADOBE IN-DESIGN and COREL DRAW. Once your image is created, you are then ready to have it cut out.
Using a machine called a "plotter", your specific color vinyl is set into the machine and now is ready to be cut. The plotter uses a sharp pin like blade to score the surface of the vinyl film and cut your specific shapes. The plotter has a setting control which regulates how deep each cut is
and that enables the excess vinyl film to be removed easier. Now that your entire image has been cut, you are ready to "weed" the excess vinyl film away. The "weeding" process is simply the term used to describe how all the excess vinyl film is removed so that your image can
be seen in it's complete form.
Now that your vinyl design is cut out and the excess vinyl film has been removed, you are ready to tape your image for application. Using a low tack tape, the face of your image is masked. This low tack tape keeps all your images in place during installation onto your target area.
