Vehicle Signage: Digitally Printed Decal(s) vs. Magnetic Signs

Whether business is booming or your getting just enough business to make ends meet. You want to be able to advertise as much as possible. Do you go permanent and paint your advertising on? Do you go a less permanent route and use adhesive vinyl lettering? Or do you go with magnetic car signs that you can put on and take off at your leisure?

Most people today who want to advertise on their own personal vehicle tend to not want to go to the extreme and have full custom graphics painted onto their vehicle. This could lead into problems for companies who are not sure how the business is going to turn out and who don't want to spend the big bucks until they see how well the business is going to do. Well, by using full color digitally printed decals as an option, you can get that professional look on an amateurs pocketbook. What are digitally printed decal(s)? Think is essence of a large "bumper sticker". You have your image or graphic digitally printed onto a very aggressive adhesive back vinyl material. Once this image is printed, a gloss or matte lamination is sealed onto the face of the print to help fight abrasion. A low tack transfer tape is then applied to the face of the print so you can then squeegee the large decal onto the vehicle. This method of vehicle advertising is a sure fire way to get noticed! If you are looking for something a little less permanent, try going with a digitally printed car magnetic. This is a sure fire method of advertising for your vehicle. You have seen them everywhere, now you have the option of advertising not only your vehicle, but an alternate vehicle if needed. These digital printed magnetic car signs are interchangeable between most vehicles. Now you not only get a professional look while advertising on your vehicle, but you also get the convenience of placing and removing your advertisement at your leisure. This way of advertising is perfect for those who live under strict housing rules where public advertisement is not allowed.

Either way you go, the numbers don't lie. Advertising using digitally printed decal(s) or digitally printed magnetics is the smartest and most cost efficient way to stretch your advertising budget.

Sign Shops?? How Do You Choose The Right One?

OK, you have a business. But you are unsure of how to advertise. You have all these ideas, but no guidance on how to maximize your advertising budget. When trying to get the most from your advertising budget, a major key is to find a sign shop that can handle "ALL" of your advertising signage needs. Everything from product quality, reliability and most important customer service. Below are some tips to help identify what type of sign shop to look for when advertising signage is needed.

1) Make sure your sign shop offers "ALL" the products you need. No one likes to go to ten different locations when they can get it all from the same place. Do your research and find the sign shop that fits your requirements, not just your budget.

2) Make sure your sign shop understands your needs and is willing to offer suggestions and ideas you may not be aware of. Choosing a sign shop who has been in the business for an extended amount of time is key. Knowledge is power and the longer a sign shop has been around, chances are they understand the importance of providing not only outstanding products but outstanding service as well.

3) Make sure your sign shop is willing to educate you on whatever question(s) or idea(s) you may have. They are the experts and should have full knowledge of all the products they offer.

4) Make sure that your sign shop uses the best possible products . Inks, banner material, vinyl material and magnetic material. Inferior products may save you a little money now, but can and will cost you more money down the road. Never buy on price alone. If the price sounds to good to be true, chances are it is. Just make sure that when you are shopping around you are comparing apples to apples.

5) Above all, choose a sign shop who knows how to put you first. Ultimately this is your advertising signage and you should not have to compromise anything. You want to be able to rely on a sign shop who not only carries great product, but who also understands your needs and how to help you achieve that professional look you deserve.

Advertising With Signs- How Can Signs Work For You

Signs...they are everywhere you look. Whether they are telling you to stop, exit here, where to eat, what's on sale or even to make sure you pick up after your dog. Advertising signs are used for almost everything. You almost feel that if there were no signs, would we really know what to do or where to go?

The benefit of using signs for advertising is the fact that they are so versatile. The way signs are being used nowadays, you know how effective advertising signage can be. The bad thing is that majority of businesses out there don't take advantage of the effectiveness that signs have on today's consumers. Statistics show that most of the consumers out there buy according to what type of sign advertisements are out there and how inviting the signage is. For instance, you are retail store and you are having a HUGE 50% off sale... And right down the street is a retail store that sells the same exact products. Who are customers going to buy from? Unless you stand outside your store screaming everything is 50% off, no one is going to care let alone know you are having such a great sale. Chances are you will scare off potential customers, rather than invite them to come shop. And now your competition is reaping the rewards because you have no signs advertising your sale.

Whether you are a large company or a small mom and pop shop, advertising with signs is a sure fire way to get your point across. We all have great marketing ideas (at least we all like to think so), but how do you get your target customers attention unless you put those ideas on to advertising signage for the masses to see. Anything and everything from banners, to posters , car magnetics, to window lettering. Even flyers, bumper stickers and decals, signs for advertising come in all forms. . Luckily, there are sign shops out there that can help you with all your sign advertising needs. The only thing you need now is to find that sign shop that can take care of all the different advertising signage you will need. By visiting www.ocsigns.com you will find a vast array of ways to advertise with signs. OC Signs is not only right for your ideas, but right for your pocket book as well. Banner Installation---Stop the Sail Effect?

OK, you received your banner...Question is, how do you hang the banner up?
Most people, when they think of a banner display, they think of your typical banner install between two trees or light posts...That's great, but when you have invested a couple hundred dollars into a banner, the last thing you want to see is your banner flying away in the wind.
Our suggestion for banner installation to help keep this problem from happening is to provide your banner with a guide wire to help distribute the weight evenly across the whole banner.
When dealing with large banner prints and there is no backing for the banner to rest against it, is almost inevitable your banner will become a large sail once the wind picks up. No matter if your banner is stitched and hemmed for durability, a grommet is sure to pop out of the banner if there is too much stress placed upon it. If displaying a banner in between two objects is the only means of installation for you, you definitely need a guide wire fro your banner installation. You want to place the guide wire behind the banner on the top and bottom of the banner. Once the guide wire is set, you want to secure the banner providing even distribution of the banner weight across the wires. Doing this helps to keep the banner nice and taught so there is no stress on any particular part of the banner. Installation of a banner is just as important as the banner itself, when done properly this can make the difference in how your banner is viewed. Digitallly Printed Banner vs. Vinyl Cut Banners.....Which is right for you?

When purchasing a banner, whether it's for a "Grand Opening" event; "Trade Show" or even a "Construction Site", most of us just want a banner that can be hung...Right? We don't know if we need a "Full Color Digital" print or a "Vinyl Cut Lettered" banner...

Like most people in need of a banner, your probably not sure what the difference is. Well, even though both type of banners are very durable and rugged. You will see that a "Full Color Digital" banner works best for someone who wants to add bright vibrant color and may have logos or graphics that they would like to display.

When choosing a "Full Color Digital" banner, you want to make sure that you have a nice high resolution image or graphic. Full color digital print banners are used not only to draw attention, but to shock and awe anyone and everyone who is within viewing distance. Full color digital banners are printed at a very high resolution to ensure that you achieve the rich photo quality you are looking for. Full color digital banners are perfect for not only indoor, but durable enough for outdoor display as well. Full color digital banners should be printed with eco-friendly solvent based inks (fade resistant), to help the image keep its beautiful look year after year.

On the other hand, maybe you just want to advertise your building "FOR LEASE"...Short, sweet and simple - no glitz or glamour, just straight to the point advertising. This is where Vinyl lettered banners come into play. Vinyl lettered banners are a great value for your advertising budget. Vinyl lettered banners are for those in need of advertising just the facts...Who, What, When, Where and Why. Unlike a Full color digital print banner, the Vinyl lettered banner does not get digitally printed. Instead, the Vinyl lettered banner is assembled by cutting out all your text from self- adhesive vinyl and adhering it to a vinyl banner. Durable for outdoor as well as indoor. Simple yet effective.

Now that you know what type of options you have when choosing a banner, the only thing left is to determine what size banner works best for you... No worries. Magnetic Signs - To Blow off or not to Blow Off

You see them everywhere...Magnetic Car Signs. Chances are you have either seen someone advertising their business with car magnets, or you yourself are advertising using car magnets. One thing is for sure, if you do use magnetic signs for advertising, the last thing you want is to pull over and find out that one or both of your magnetic signs have flown off of your vehicle. There are several reasons for this happening.

1)
You may have inferior magnetic sheeting. Make sure that when investing in car magnetic signs that you get the strongest possible material. The highest grade of magnetic material is .30 mil.

2)
You may have installed your magnetic signs improperly. The general rule is you want to place your car magnetic signs on the flattest smoothest surface possible. This means no placing the car magnetic signs over emblems or molding and make sure you avoid any freshly repaired or bondo areas where there may be less steel to help adhere your magnetic signs to the body of the vehicle.

3)
One other reason your magnetic signs could blow off could be that the corners of your magnetic signs were not rounded. If your corners are straight edge cuts, after time these corners tend to curl up or "dog ear" which allows air to get between your car magnetic and the vehicle surface. All it takes is a small pocket to let air in between and next thing you know you are dodging traffic trying to retrieve you magnetic sign(s) that just blew off.

Ultimately, you just want to make sure that when purchasing car magnetic signs, you are getting the best possible quality magnetic sign material on the market. Also, make sure that you take care of them and perform routine maintenance to ensure that you get the maximum affect from your magnetic car signs. Taking the couple of minutes to ensure that your magnetic signs are clean and free from debris, could be the difference between you and your competition. Your customers can't read your advertisement if your magnetic signs are laying on the highway instead of your vehicle door. To learn more about magnetic car signs visit
