Do you make custom cut decals?

Yes, we can make custom cut decals and lettering.

Custom cutting of decals is very popular and very sought after for lots of lettering and decal projects. Decal custom cuts can be simple or complex, depending on your decal needs, and the look trying to be achieved. Simple cuts involve oval cut decals, rectangle cut decals, square cut decals and circular cut decals. Another easy custom cut style is called a cloud cut. While more complex, custom cut decals are referred to as die-cut decals.

As with decals, custom cutting a decal, has a loose translation through words that sound different but can mean the same thing in the world of printing decals. Die-cut decals, computer cut decals, laser cut decals, cut-out-to-shape decals are just few terms we hear from our customers when they want to order a decal that has a custom cut. To us a custom cut decal means that the decal will need to have a specific and unique shape, unlike a standard square, rectangle, oval or circular shaped decal. So let's discuss some of the particular custom cut decal options and break it down a bit more.

CLOUD CUT DECALS:

This particular custom cut is a little fancier than just a standard printed decal with a square, rectangle or circular shape. A cloud cut essentially leaves extra white space around the printed decal, creating a "cloud" appearance. This custom cut decal option is great for printed artwork that doesn't need a specific cut-to-shape look, and for customers supplying artwork in non-vector formats that can't be cut to shape without the proper file. Cloud cuts can also save you money over producing a die cut decal that requires intricate custom cutting. (Please note: The picture to the left shows an example of a combination of window graphics that included a cloud cut decal with cut vinyl lettering.)

DIE CUT DECALS:

This style of custom cut decal is having been an industry standard for many, many moons. A die cut decal creates a custom cut by utilizing a dye (think cookie-cutter) that punches out decals in mass quantity, all at the same size and shape. Die cut decals are technically very cheap to produce when you are ordering hundreds to thousands of decals. But for one or two decals, requesting a die cut decal, can become very expensive because a specific dye has to be made. That is where modern technology comes to the rescue in the form of computer cut decals or laser cut decals. Lots of people however refer to any custom cut decal as a "die cut decal" because it is cut to a specific shape.

COMPUTER CUT or LASER CUT DECALS:

These two decal choices are easily made and require no dyes (like die cut decals do) and are much easier to produce even in mass numbers. Computer cut decals and laser cut decals utilize specific programs that allow for high-tech printing machines to cut decals to shape for unique custom cut decals. The great thing about computer cut and laser cut decals is that it gives decal customers the opportunity to purchase one decal, hundreds of decals or thousands of decals without having to spend extra money on creating a dye to die cut their decals to shape. But all in all, die cut decals, computer cut decals and laser cut decals produce decals that are cut out to specific shapes.
