Pre-spaced vinyl lettering for cars, windows, walls and floors.

Pre-spaced vinyl lettersCut vinyl lettering, also known as RTA or ready-to-apply lettering, is currently the industry standard for simple lettering of vehicles, windows, walls, floors, etc. Cut vinyl lettering is very economical without a need for painting, and can be installed by your everyday typical Joe or Josephine.

Cut vinyl lettering is achieved by literally cutting out shapes of letters, images and silhouettes from a solid colored piece of vinyl. Since the vinyl that the lettering is cut from has an adhesive backing, it is easily applied on just about any smooth, non-porous surface.

Another great advantage of cut vinyl lettering, is that the lettering itself, comes pre-spaced and sandwiched between the liner paper and a low tack transfer tape. Simply put, if you purchase a line (or lines) of text of cut vinyl lettering, it will be assmebled as one line for a single application, instead of having to apply each letter separately.

Once more, when and if the time comes for removal, cut vinyl lettering can be easily peeled off the particular surface (glass, wall, floor, vehicle, etc.) with no damage to the underlying substrate.

Cut Vinyl Lettering Colors, Options & Fonts
Cut vinyl colors will vary from store to store depending on what colors the sign shop decides to carry. Sometimes the types of vinyl that the shop carries will afford a variety of specialty vinyls, i.e. Reflective Vinyl, Frosted Crystal Vinyl, Etched Glass Vinyl, Flourescent Vinyl, Metallic Vinyl, Gold Mirrored Vinyl, Silver Metallic, etc, just to name a few.

Most sign shops will offer a Standard (Intermediate) Vinyl and a Premium (High Performance) Vinyl. The only real difference in these vinyl choices is that Premium vinyl has a more aggrestive adhesive that is much better suited for lettering jobs that will cover heavily textured areas, contoured surfaces or be subjected to harsh weather/washing conditions.

Most printers have hundreds of fonts to choose from. But if you are supplying a specific font, you will need to make sure that you have the correct file format to be able to cut the vinyl out to shape. Cut vinyl lettering requires a "vector format." Vector formats can be generated with specific software programs, namely Illustrator and Corel Draw. If you do not have a "vector" program at your disposal, most sign shops will typeset the information for you, in any font of your choice, and vectorize the lettering for you.
